About La Costa - North Course
Originally designed by the great Dick Wilson, La Costa's North Course (formerly the Champions) has been redesigned by Gil Hanse. The revamped course features lengthened tees, turf reduction, reshaped and re-contoured holes. The North Course also features six sets of tees creating flexibility to play from 4,500 to 7,500 yards in order to accommodate players of all skill levels. The idea was to update a classic course without adding any gimmicks and to emphasize both challenge and technique. The design team added more definition with native grasses, colorful landscaping, contour and gradation. Host of 37 PGA TOUR events in the past, and the new home for the NCAA Division I Championship through 2028, the course is once again ready to challenge the best players in the world as well as both members and resort guests.
